Hokkaido, yes - but only to Hakodate.

It’s still another ~4 hours to Sapporo on the normal trains.

Sadly, the Sapporo extension is due to come into operation in March 2031. I must admit that I really like Sapporo, although it’s not one of the ritzier tourist destinations.
