We can only speculate. The GOP base has been thoroughly radicalized, so I expect that Trumpism, meaning fascism, will remain the ascendant ideology in the GOP for some time to come, even without Trump. As long as Trump is free and alive, I expect him to remain the titular leader of the GOP.

Trump’s already lost most of his mind. Do they keep him as leader when all he can do is rant about people while getting their names entirely wrong? How about when all he can do is drool and grunt?
