You can’t advocate chopping one of the few productive industries going in America by about a quarter and then complain at Obama because there aren’t any jobs. Pick one. It also isn’t very good for America if you leave the vast majority of the remaining auto industry foreign-owned.

I didn’t see Satt advocate chopping the car industry. I saw him making a point that there are other viable car makers around, in response to your comment that if GM hadn’t been bailed out, there would be NO auto industry in the US, which was a bit far-fetched.

If we hadn’t bailed out GM, we wouldn’t have an auto industry in America.

Of course, these things always depend on exactly what industry it is we’re talking about.

It’s perfectly OK to advocate the complete shut-down of the oil industry. That one seems to be acceptable.
