I took a different tact when we bought our minivan (2008). I took my wife and let the salesman keep us for hours. Then I lowballed the fuck out of them and walked out the door. Shocking even the wife. They chased after us and tried like hell to get me out of the car and back in the dealer. Which I did and got the price I (mostly) wanted.
