Exactly. Manslaughter in self defence is also legal and should be so, but that does not make it pleasant or desirable. Opposing abortion as a birth control procedure is not the same as saying it should be illegal.

Abortion is such an emotionally loaded issue for both sides that both sides exaggerate and seem blind to the others point of view.
