That we’ve done gun registration stupidly in the past doesn’t mean there isn’t a smart way to go about it.

A lot of forms of gun control are a total waste, I agree— especially because criminals aren’t very inclined to follow laws. But it’s not a dichotomy; it doesn’t mean all gun control is foolish. At the very least, I think you’d agree that violent convicted felons shouldn’t be allowed guns, right?

FTFY. You don’t have to be violent to be barred from owning a gun.

Felons are not legally entitled to own firearms. Period. Full stop.

Every gun I buy, I pass a background check. If I lie and obtain a gun otherwise than lawfully as a convicted felon, I would be subject to the harshest penalties. What additional laws are needed?
