I still read comments from Paulians at Huffpo. But it’s no longer really a lefty site, since half its traffic comes from its connection to AOL (hardly a bastion of liberalism, or any sort of rational thinking).

Young folks and some of the relatively few liberal libertarians liked him, primarily for two things. He opposed the wars, and he’s cool with legalizing pot.

Ron Paul and his son Kland are conservative Republicans. Their minions will try and recruit anybody, just as the antiwar.com paleocons will. That’s because they are desperate to make themselves look like more of a real political movement than they really are.

As for HP, Ms. Huffington has always been an opportunist. The site was started with stupid Breitbart, for gd’s sake. A lot of these people are just flat-out carnival barkers with a schtick, some with more demagogic qualities than others.
