The concept of Eugenics as a race-neutral tool to improve the wellbeing of humankind as a whole is something I can understand even though I don’t support it, but that was never how it was used in practice.

I understand it, but the notion of breeding humans like livestock to “improve the race” is morally abhorrent, not to mention the fact that selective breeding is most often used to enhance certain features preferred by the breeders with little regard for the overall well being of the animals.
