Sorry, I disagree. I saw this issue develop from the very beginning, and it was absolutely promoted mainly by the right. Phillip Berg, who filed some of the first frivolous lawsuits, is more of a kook than a Democrat or Republican, and Coulter is being disingenuous (again) when she portrays him as a leftist.

Well, Phillip Berg was the Chair of the Democratic Party in Montgomery County, PA. He has also served in various Democratic Party posts over the years as well. He’s also a 9/11 Troofer, and even filed a lawsuit to remove several justices of the Supreme Court who voted for Bush in Bush v. Gore. It gets better with Berg,

In 2005 he was fined and sanctioned $10,000 for having committed a “laundry list of unethical actions.”

Yes, he is a kook, but he distictly started on the left and gained a bunch of gullible followers on the right.
