Well, folks, this has been a very interesting conversation.

Tomorrow I have to get up and drive to my hometown - through the miracle of Facebook, many of my HS friends have connected after years of no contact whatsoever, and we are having a sort of sudden and spontaneous “mini-reunion” lunch tomorrow. I think they originally anticipated maybe 20 would show up, but it looks like there will be closer to 40 (or maybe a few more). I am so looking forward to it - so many of us ended up having happy and productive and successful lives (success being measured not in terms of money, but in terms of having family and/or making a good life).
