Damn. Just damn.

A fire that started at Kohr’s frozen custard has spread to other boardwalk businesses, including FunTown Pier, where rides damage by superstorm Sandy are ablaze, Police Chief Francis Larkin said.

Emergency personnel first came to the boardwalk at about 2:30 p.m. for a report of smoke. A plume of gray smoke now stretches as far north as Ortley Beach as fire crews fight to douse the blaze.

The Breaking News Network also is reporting that the fire has reached six alarms, caused fires at buildings as far as four blocks away and resulted in water supply issues. Jackson, Manchester and Bayville firefighters were called in to assist.

It is still uncontained and spreading to adjacent structures. It’s also moving onto the just rebuilt boardwalk (rebuilt after Sandy). Thankfully no injuries, but it looks like the buildings are going to be totaled.

It’s going to wipe out whatever was left standing or what was just rebuilt after Sandy.

There are wind gusts of up to 50 mph in that area spreading and fanning the flames.
