Interesting how the lawyers for Epstein keep having to come up with explanations for things, instead of simply saying what the passport was in the first place. And the next obvious question is *who* gave him the passport and/or modified it to have Epstein’s photo on it. (Since I am pretty sure that non-governmental modification of a passport is criminal.)

So the lawyers are now in the stage of claiming incompetence in order to avoid admitting criminality.
