So the Democratic party in California is not being too helpful as I sit here staring at my ballot.

While I will vote against the recall, now I’m left with the second question - the replacement.

I get why the party doesn’t want to endorse someone.

But leaving that question blank is a pretty poor answer.

Because whoever gets the most votes, the fewer total votes the higher % that “winner” will appear.

If no Democrat votes for a replacement, then whoever the Republican who wins that second vote will likely have a much higher appearing % of the votes, enough for them to claim legitimacy.

The recall is a stunt by angry Republicans exploiting California law. But we have to be prepared for the possible outcome that the “Yes” votes will carry the day, which means the second question is important.
