There is a huge problem looming for the Obama administration. Their brilliant tactic of giving nothing but glittering generalities, never being specific, and allowing the media and the electorate to project onto him their hopes and dreams, works great for a campaign. But presidents get nailed down, have to make decisions. Eventually his views will be exposed, and a large number of “voters” will realize that he doesn’t believe what they believe at all, that his change is not their change.

I have no clue where he will come down, really. His voting record says “liberal.” His rhetoric and cabinet choices say “moderate.” Once he starts making real decisions the dream will falter and the bubble will pop.

The rhetoric of Hopenchange will be an SNL joke in 4 years.
