Jesus was an illiterate peasant from a tiny backwoods town who was barely known in his lifetime outside of a small geographical area. Only reason he got on the Roman radar at all was he and his followers were seen as a threat to their stability in another pretty much irrelevant part of the massive Roman Empire.

That one man was barely a tiny blip on anything Roman. He wasn’t going to be telling anyone anything.

The thing about Jesus is not that he was some godlike messiah in his lifetime. He was basically no one.
