Another thing that puzzles me: I had fully expected Russian “fifth column” attacks to be more widespread and effective.

I thought that Putin would have had people already in place sabotaging communications, transportation and energy infrastructure supported by massive hacking attacks, and that his troops would just have to come in and occupy targets already paralyzed and defenseless.

None of that seemed to materialize.
