Part of me actually wishes it would happen. When the Republicans who collect disability and welfare checks stop getting them, we’ll see how well they’ll think of their newly elected representatives.

Not that Steele has to worry about that. And they call us elitists.

Actually, they’ll still get their checks. What won’t happen is that new applications for things like Medicare of SS won’t get processed. But the highly automated processes of sending out checks to already-enrolled recipients will probably proceed apace.
