Heh. When I was stationd in Germany in the early 90s we had a Wing Commander who was a bit gung ho and used to tell us to “suck it up” when we were ın saudi. Anyhow, afriend of mine who was a dental tech gave him a shot of saline instead of novocaine when he came in to get a filling done. All the “show backbone” and “stick it out” bullshit came back to haunt him when he started moaning from the chair. Eventually, my friend did have mercy and gave him a shot. Moral to this story: even if you’re a lowly enlisted man you can still make a difference! hehehehe.
