Prediction: When LA’s bid fails, Trump will launch into a twittercane about how the city being a “sanctuary city” scared off the IOC because all them “illegals” are creating such a hostile environment that no country feels safe sending its athletes there.

And when the IOC or someone close to the negotiations corrects the record that Trump’s isolationist/bigoted policies are what killed the bid, he’ll flip to screaming about how corrupt they are, how they’re “anti-American,” and how the Olympics are just one more example of other countries trying to exercise control over America. The irony of his saying such a thing as Putin will no doubt be speaking in “solidarity” with him will be totally lost on the press.
