One thing to add: these large numbers start to depersonalize the losses. Each of these was a father, a mother, a child, traumatic pain caused by a gap in each family that lost a member. A future that won’t be realized.

b) and the GOP will treat it the same way: Now is not the time to talk about the issue or politicise it.
