You make a good point, but the purpose of the party out of power is to undertake the steps needed to return or gain power. That means that the focus has to be on articulating an alternative vision and approach that will go farther and better to address the nation’s challenges than presented by the party in power.

They should use a broad brush. There’s absolutely no good reason to offer hypothetical, legislatively dead on arrival specifics.
