I fear that Newt might just be approaching critical mass in the GOP. He just needs to stick to the core message of low taxes, less regulation and jobs, jobs, jobs.

If that turns out to be the case, his party and his supporters will be willing to ignore or rationalize anything unpleasant about his past actions, statements or associations.

And if the economy continues to spiral downwards, it only increases his chances.
