I am assuming you only have one reader? Is this the built-in one on the Macbook? Need a little more info to start troubleshooting. :)

Is it just that card or is it all cards? Is it a problem with the card not fitting or the computer not recognizing it when you plug it in?

One card reader, part of the macbook. It doesn’t appear on my desktop like it used to. Same old card that I have been using in my camera since the beginning of my ownership of said camera. Sold to me by the camera shop.(which is, of course, no longer located in my neck of the woods—in the city only now —which really upset me because they were wonderful)

The deal is that a couple of weeks ago I downloaded pix from a friend SD card (she took pics of my dog and I didn’t want to wait for her to email them to me). Her card got stuck. We eventually pulled it out —and all seemed well (at the time). Now it won’t read my card. I’ve shined a point light and used Dear Ole’ Dads old man double magnifier head piece (for tying flys) and can’t see anything amiss (according to all the pics I researched).

Now what?
