Why? TU is a standard -issue grift to fleece people who imagine that they can be wealthy by emulating a con-man. It depends on the mark’s greed.

From what I read about it, they went beyond the asshole timeshare sales pitch to convincing people to max out credit cards or take out mortgages to pay for their bullshit courses. It reminds me a lot of what I saw when I was litigating mortgage fraud cases, where mortgage brokers were targeting unsophisticated borrowers for refinancing or “zero down loans”.
