Look people, we all know that if a lefty kills a pile of people then all people of the left are evil by default, and if a righty kills a pile of people then all people of the righty persuasion are evil by default, so it is important for us to determine, as quickly as possible whether this gun toting nut bar is right or left so that we know which group to demonize.

Once we’ve successfully dehumanized one group or the other, or maybe even both, then we can proceed to dehumanize them with a clear conscience.

I don’t think see it like that. When an awesome Democrat like Giffords gets shot like this, not doing some random, going about her business kinda thing, but at a political rally, it’s safe to GUESS that it’s politically motivated, even if we point to cases like John Hinckley which isn’t usual. Moreso, when we have violent rhetoric coming out of one party and not the other. I’m not saying that there are no examples of rage and violence from the Left, but it holds no candle to that of the Right, and I would add, from people who are pretty far up in the pecking order, like Sarah Palin.

Even more when the Left supports gun control and the Right does not. That isn’t demonization. It’s the truth.
