Seems ridiculous, if he has nothing to hide, for a police officer to go that route.

5th Amendment would be the proper course of action. Because of the possibility of both criminal and civil rights suits, and the different standards of proof, who is doing the investigations, and the follow-up civil suit that is all but assured to occur. You don’t want to admit to anything that might even indicate the shooting wasn’t a legitimate use of force. Better say nothing than let something that might incriminate him.

That’s his constitutional right, and it’s the right call for him and his attorney.

Too bad he didn’t give Brown that opportunity to exercise his rights to defend himself in court.
