So, the panic of seeing people die after they receive the vaccine causes an additional 10% of the population to refuse to get the vaccine, which means we don’t reach the herd immunity that would help save more lives. Like any vaccine, it won’t protect you in all cases, which means that if we don’t get it to enough people, older people will still be vulnerable even if they get the vaccine.

The thing is, the anti-vaccers are going to sow distrust, no matter what we do. It only takes one younger person displaying Covid symptoms after getting vaccinated, which has already happened. So we might as well vaccinate the highest risk group, instead of engaging in a futile effort to keep people from being duped by anti-vaccers.
