In the deeper future, when the languages have morphed beyond recognition, if say Mount Rushmore survives in some form, even damaged, legends will be needed to describe it. And Hoover Dam, and the other monumental works that will outlive our own society and nation.

And in that far future there will be numerous cranks who insist that the remains of places like Mt. Rushmore and Hoover Dam are proof positive that aliens have visited the planet. Their argument will be that the puny humans of our time, using only the primitive tools available to us, could not have created such monumental structures without the help of our space buddies.
