Why not? Everyone gets what they want. Trump gets to be president and strip-mine our country. Putin gets a loyal idiot who’ll burn down his opposition while he takes Europe.

Suppose the gameplan from day one has to be to utterly destroy the United States? Not put a friendly government in, but reduce it to a third world country or something…
