Corker said that his concerns about Trump’s ability to govern are shared by nearly every Republican in the Senate. “Look, except for a few people, the vast majority of our caucus understands what we’re dealing with here,” he told the Times. “Of course they understand the volatility that we’re dealing with and the tremendous amount of work that it takes by people around him to keep him in the middle of the road.”

I’ve maintained all along that most Republicans in Congress just play along with Trump so they can get their own agenda moving, not that they like, or can even tolerate much, Trump.

Of course Trump has been ineffective in moving the Republican agenda (at least the parts that require action in Congress), because Trump is incompetent.

Trump has always been nothing more than a con-man. That he was elected illustrates how many easy marks are in America.
