He seems to be saying he got elected because he’s black [and lucky]. The ultimate “affirmative action” whine.

It’s an acknowledgment that many people support affirmative action and put those feelings into practice by voting for a clearly historic candidate. And there’s no question (in my mind) this historic opportunity increased turn-out.

On the other hand, it probably increased racist turn-out too, so I question if it was a net positive (don’t have the data…).
