Strongly disagree. Other groups have had tribes at various points, including a number in Europe (eastern AND western). Yes, many of the ones you are likely to have heard of were clans, not tribes, but there were many, many tribes as well. Not all native american cultures were tribal. Other groups have a legitimate claim to the term ‘tribe,’ even if you aren’t familiar with their usage. In fact, there are even groups that use the term ‘tribe’ that doesn’t closely fit the current historical meaning, and people still manage to get not all pissy about it.

There are better reasons to be ‘damn insulted’ about neonazis than to manufacture outrage because neither of you are very familiar with the term ‘tribe’.
