re: #152 brookly red

dinks?

Small fish. Basically anything under 10 inches. We have Osprey’s, cormorants, Bald and Gold eagles, pelicans, storks and pretty much every other fish eating bird out here this time of year and if the fish are too small then they get eaten up by the birds in a heartbeat.

The pay lakes (those you don’t need a license at) tend to stock with larger fish to avoid too much loss due to predation. The one I caught was probably just over a foot when stocked (it had a lot of tail growth).

The california DFG tends to put smaller fish (aka dinks) in the park lakes and it’s a feeding frenzy for any type of fish eating bird.
