Sadly, it looks like an acceptable pastime.

I don’t like it in politics either. Like the Obama with a 0 instead of an O, and Nobama and McCan’t and Shrillary, etc.

Charles once posted how baffling it was for people to call him Chuck and Chucky, and wondered where that even comes from.

Nicknames that are acceptable alternates to the person’s actual nick are endearing, but the mockery that passes for humor is just low.
