Kheda Saratova, member of the Council on Human Rights under the President of Chechnya said that she wouldn’t even take a look at any complaint about killing of gays if she even received one, and fully defended killing of gays by their families and hushing things up. Alvi Karimov, Kadyrov’s spokesman, said that even if there were gays in Chechnya, there wouldn’t be any anyway because their families would send them “to the address from which there is no return”.

Seems like whether they are Christian or Muslim, the Caucasus will continue to remain a backward and decadent region for decades to come.
