One would hope.

But the possibility remains that American Democracy is so thoroughly compromised at this point and our Constitution so out of date that it combined with our overall population has been hacked by external and internal threats beyond repair. The autocrats may well be the end result of the era of nearly unlimited communication. Too much information to process, not enough critical thinking to go around.
