I suspect it does in most American’s eyes. MLK was pretty radical on many fronts and I hate to see those angles “white-washed” in history. There is a reason even John Macain resisted the creation of MLK Day.

Honestly, given King’s attitude on Vietnam, I think that’s one you have to give John McCain some slack on. He wasn’t being racist, he didn’t want to give a man who’d favored the people who tortured him a holiday.
