I don’t think there should be an expansion of West Bank settlements.

I would serve in the IDF to defend Israel. But to put my life on the line for settlements - many of which are populated by Brooklynites who won’t raise a rifle in the IDF - that ultimately threaten Israeli democracy?

That’s a gross simplification of what is going on. Most of the expansion now a days is natural expansion. People having families etc. They are not building new settlements, with the possible exception of around Jerusalem. And the majority of people living on the West Bank are NOT Americans.
