Since it’s a little slow around here today, I’m going to ask a kinda dumb question. Bear with me(and not with real bears,ha)…

I’ve never been to college, one day I will probably go. Since I’ve never been, I don’t know the first thing about the admissions process or any of that stuff. But I want to look into a trade school or vocational type school for my son who is 19 and has Asperger’s. Here’s the thing, there are SO many rip off and dubious two year or technical or trade schools out there, I have NO IDEA how to figure out what is legit and what isn’t. Is there a way to figure that out, or would I need to find a school and then call a university to see if credits from that school would ever be transferable? Is there some sort of accreditation legit schools have that I could look for?

I have an ex husband who spent close to 50K back in the day(I checked, it’s nearly double that now)for a degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in professional photography. To my knowledge, that “degree” never got him any job anywhere. I’ve looked at sound engineering/audio tech schools for my kidI(he’s a total metalhead, but not a great musician, though he has taught himself to play a little guitar and some drums), and the cost is just astounding, almost as much as medical school. Yet year after year these schools are crammed with young people. I do not want my son to get sucked into a program that is worthless when he’s done. Any ideas or thoughts?
