re: #156 Teukka
Why not?
Well, instead, I plugged gozer into Google Translate.
It came back as Dutch for ‘guy’ with a synonym of geezer. So I looked up the origination of geezer which came back guiser and the fact that in British English it means well-dressed and also refers to a mummer. And of course, the root of guiser is ‘guise’. Which comes from the Middle English ‘gyse’, which derived from th Old French ‘guisse’(guise, manner, way) , which came from the Old Frankish ‘wisa’ (manner, way, fashion)
By the way, if you have a minute, I am intrigued,
1. Was Google Translate accurate on gosar?
2. Is there a root in Swedish similar to guise or wisa?
