On sports in general:
Nothing’s pure. Especially not the Olympics. The past 50 years of the Games were known for bankrupting the cities that hosted them, and not least for destroying and demolishing the concept of pure “uncommercial” sport. (While the organizers looted the treasuries…)

I’m old enough to remember when only amateur sports people could take part in the olympics (and the tennis majors). Money turned sport into a business and of course the hangers on all turned up to get their cut.
