First, I can only conclude that you previously had a higher opinion of the religious right than I ever did; I’m not remotely surprised by the headline.

Second, thank you for your input. I’m sensitive to the use of certain words, in political or cultural contexts, that to me have radically different connotations. Talk of “purging” political parties just rubbed me the wrong way.

Third, you are correct in identifying me as somebody who advocates backing government currency with gold. Not sure what that has to do with the topic at hand, but it is true.

Fourth, it was my impression, before I started posting here recently, that our esteemed moderator was more polite.
