re: #77 Fat Bastard Vegetarian

I was at the monument a few months ago. I am a fan.

Since the monument is new, there were hundreds of black folks there, touching the stone; having their pictures taken. I saw pride and tears.

Honestly? I felt like an interloper. I didn’t go within fifty yards of the statue. Wanted to give the folks there “space”. It is a strong monument and it’s a shame that on this side of it’s creation there is any controversy at all.

MLK is (or can be) a hero for everyone. Not just black people, not just Americans. You probably would not have been seen as an interloper. People might have felt heartened that a Fat Bastard white guy was enjoying his visit there too.
