Well, I admitted in an earlier thread that I didn’t think voluntary “quarantines” were enough.

Health experts say that Ebola can’t be transmitted until you show symptoms—yet they really aren’t that specific about when in the course of the disease you should be considered a carrier. At least, I’m not clear on that. Dr. Spencer came back to the US on 10/17, and 6-7 days later, had a fever of 103. So, he had obviously been infected for some time if 21 days (?) is the quarantine period.

One other area not being mentioned in the press is the subject of sex, just a general avoidance of “bodily fluids”, avoiding the subject of sex altogether in listing activities. I would suspect that sexual activity could be one of the major transmitters of the disease, considering the “bodily fluids” involved in it.

Dr. Spencer didn’t have 103 degree fever until after he arrived at the hospital. His temperature was normal up until that morning when it was a bit over 100, and he called immediately to report that.
