I saw some libertarian clown claiming we ‘Statists’ think there’d be your house, and over there a Sears store, and nobody could figure out how to get from one to the other. It’s the best they can come up with to the simple question of ‘Who builds the roads?’, which is the Achilles Heel of Libertarianism.

Of course, since paved roads are a prerequisite to both contractors and retailers, without paved roads you have isolated villages that have limited traffic between them - kinda like Medieval Europe. That’s why one of the things governments do first is build roads.
