Yes, it’s true, they were. Because GOP members of Congress were conspiring with a foreign government to sabotage the US — a foreign government that was spying on us.

It’s called counterespionage, and the NSA did its job - identifying that Israel was spying on the US and passing along information to GOPers in Congress and to anti-deal advocates in and outside the government.

Israel was looking to shape and change the terms of the debate. They were actively engaging in meddling in the functioning of the USG.

Shapiro and his ilk will ignore that, instead focusing on the NSA uncovering the leaks to Congress (from Israel - which they’ll demote to paragraph 30 buried on page A-30).
