I find it interesting that Beck’s production company is called “Mercury.” “The Mercury Theatre” was the name of the radio show on which Orson Welles did his phony “War of the World’s” broadcast. Something tells me that this is NOT a coincidence …

He remained a man of the left throughout his life, and always defined his political orientation as “progressive.” He was a strong supporter of Franklin Roosevelt and the New Deal, and often spoke out on radio in support of progressive politics.
