The fact that she had to sleep on it to realize she had a disaster on her hands says a lot about her judgment, or lack thereof. Or else her candor, or lack thereof.

One of the reasons this has gone so badly both at Davis and Berkeley is that the real higher-ups who control the UC system have a very poor grasp of what’s going on in the universities, and how it works. I think they still don’t understand precisely what happened, or how much they screwed up.
