Lawmaker Zakari Mohammed boasted the House might even increase the penalties from the 14-year imprisonment prescribed in the Senate’s bill to spite the Obama administration’s efforts to promote LGBT freedom abroad, saying “to hell with the super powers if they are for gay marriages.” In fact, the latest version of the bill also punishes anyone who “registers, operates, or participates in gay clubs, societies, and organizations, or directly or indirectly makes a public show of same-sex amorous relationship.”
