Well, to be scrupulous fair, the Maginot Line DID work, in 1940, exactly as it was supposed to: i.e., deter/deflect a German invasion along its perimeter.

Not that that excuses the French military from that “blockheadedness” award, though: their main problem in 1940 was that they hadn’t seriously thought out the eventual German workaround for the M-Line (a motorized assault through the Ardennes). Hell, even the Germans took a while to come up with that solution - but it worked. Spectacularly. Which in war, is the only metric worth mentioning…
